Janelle is a passionate educator. Her interest in teaching dyslexic students began in Vermont, USA, after completing her BS in Special Education at Vanderbilt University, Peabody College of Education. She undertook an intensive summer course teaching dyslexic teens using the OG method. She was inspired by the method and her intelligent, creative students. She began further training and teaching students 6-10 years old with a focus on literacy. She then took time off to raise a family in England.
When her family grew a bit, she returned to her OG roots and trained in the Wilson Language program. She obtained a CTEFL certificate to teach English as a foreign language, undertook executive function coach training in the UK, and stayed abreast of dyselxia research and best practice through Wilson training and graduate work.
In 2024, she began a private practice in Florence/ Rome Italy, working with bilingual, international school students using the Wilson Language Program.
Recruited to Hamburg, Germany in 2014 she was a private tutor to an 11 year old neurodiverse student who was illiterate. He is now a US college grad after years of Wilson literacy intensive work.
Janelle is based in Berlin, Germany however, post Covid, works mostly online with the same excellent results as in person. Her clients span the globe and students are often mulitlingual, attending international schools with english as the language of learning.
